Hi! I'm Gonzalo Paz. I was born and raised in Peru, but moved to Orange County, California when I was 16 years old. I am currently a 25 year old student at BYU-I, only a couple of semesters away from getting my Bachelors Degree in Psychology with a cluster on Family Studies. My family dynamic is pretty interesting, as you will learn as you read my posts. I am Mormon since I was 17! Enjoy!

Families are such an interesting combination. It is the only place where you can find a group of people with such different qualities, attributes, likes and dislikes, interests and personalities. I find it so incredible how the family is an example for the rest of the world that people can live together and survive despite their differences. These differences are only opportunities to learn. If used for good, it provides a chance to everybody in the home to grow and become more open to others' thoughts and beliefs. How is it that many countries cannot live in peace when a home can manage to peacefully despite their differences?... Well, I believe it is love. Love is the motive that enables family members to endure together. Family structure theory allows us understand that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. In other words; despite the differences that exist among the individual parts of the family, as seen as a whole and put together all of their strengths to work to overcome weaknesses; family then, becomes the basic unit in society. If we follow this example as a community, we could live in a world with less conflict.
